Viha Nakaiy Hulhangu Maldives Season Weather Monsoon

Viha is the 16th nakaiy of the Hulhangu Monsoon. Westerly lights winds are accompanied calm days and light showers. Fishing season starts in the Maldives on November.

Fishing is generally good.

WEATHER

Mainly fine weather prevails over southern most atolls. Light showers and few thunderstorms expected elsewhere. If you are in the central atolls expect light showers with rarely making it heavy. 14 days of showers are expected during the month of November, with average temperature at 27 degrees Celsius. Expect to get around 6 hours of sunshine on average every day. Not bad for a 6 hour fishing trip. For this month fishing arsenal, be sure to pack a rain coat.

WIND

Hulhangu winds during Nora blows from west at 5 – 14 mph in southern atolls, west and northwesterly at 5 -14 mph elsewhere. Winds are expected to be at an average speed of 8 mph. Seas are expected to be calm becoming moderate during showers. Rides will be smooth and not expected to be bumpy.

FISHING

Fishing season begins this November. Fishing is exceptionally good during this period. Fishing peaks from 4th November till 13th November. 5 days in this Nakaiy are major days for fishing.

Although every day is good for fishing during this nakaiy, early morning game fishing, is especially good during 12th and 13th November.

Night fishing is best during 6 pm till 9 pm from 4th November till 6th November when the moon is full. Weekend anglers better use these days for some local fishing. Atoll entries and inshore reefs are generally good for catching Red Snappers during this period.

If you are not shy of getting a little bit wet from the rain this is an excellent month to go fishing, since the seas are generally calm.

TOP CATCH

Tuna is famous during this period, especially the Skipjack Tuna (kalhubilamas) and Yellow Fin Tuna (kanneli) and Little Tuna (latti). Red Snappers (raiy mas) are usual catchs during night fishing.
