Mula Nakaiy Maldives Iruvai Monsoon
Mula is the 1st nakaiy of the Iruvai monsoon. Light easterly winds, with fine weather with sunny days.

Fishing is generally good during this period.

WEATHER

Days are sunny and clear. However, this nakaiy does bring strong winds and rough seas from time to time. 13 days of showers are expected during the month of December, with average temperature being at 25 degrees Celsius. Expect to get around 7 hours of sunshine on average every day. Not bad for a full day fishing trip. For this month fishing arsenal, be sure to pack a hat and good SPF lotion – just for good measure.

WIND

Mula marks the start of Iruvai (easterly winds) monsoon, with North-East to South-West nutrient rick currents sparks life around the atolls. Mula blows north-easterly at 4 – 12 mph. Winds are expected to be at an average speed of 7 mph. Seas are expected to be calm becoming moderate during showers. This is the perfect time to take a dip in the clear blue water.

FISHING

Fishing is generally good during this period. Fishing peaks from 12th till 22nd December. 9 days in this nakaiy are major days for fishing.

Night fishing is expected to be excellent on both the weekends of this nakaiy. Highly recommend night fishing on 15th, 16th 21st and 22nd of December. Weekend anglers better use these days for some local night fishing. Red snappers be aware.

TOP CATCH

Blue and Black – Marlin are prize catch in offshore trolling and using live bait. Tuna and Wahoo are found frequent catch.
