Reyva Nakaiy
Reyva is the 9th nakaiy of the Iruvai monsoon. Few showers may occur mainly fine weather. If storm occur they maybe sever.
Fishing is generally good during this period.
WEATHER
Few showers may occur in central & southern part of the country, overall its fine weather with clear blue skies. However, if storm occurs they maybe severe. 10 days of showers are expected during the month of April, with average temperature being at 27 degrees Celsius. Expect to get around 9 hours of sunshine on average every day. Not bad for a full day fishing trip. For this month fishing arsenal, be sure to pack lots of sun screen and a good hat – just for good measure.
WIND
Reyva is the last nakaiy of Iruvai monsoon. Winds are expected to be light in southern and central atolls and becoming slightly moderate over the rest. Wind blows from the east at 4 to 10 mph. Waves are expected to be low at just 1 – 3 feet. Boat ride is expected to be smooth. Strong winds during showers only.
FISHING
Fishing is generally believed to be good during this period. Fishing peaks from 30th till 11th. 6 days in this nakaiy are major days for fishing.
Early morning trolling for Sail Fish will be excellent. Popping/casting near shore or reef is expected to pull large GT’s during this period.
30th and 31st are excellent for night fishing since being a full moon. Weekend anglers better use these days to hunt for Red Snapper.
TOP CATCH
Sail Fish (Fangandu Hibaru) and GT (Munda Handhi) are frequent catches during this nakaiy.
