Hey Nakaiy
Hey is the 15th nakaiy of the Hulhangu Monsoon. Strong winds from all directions. Fishing is good and the markets are filled with tuna.
Weather
Scattered rain with a few heavy showers and thunderstorms in northern atolls. Apart from a few shower mainly fine elsewhere. Do expect 16 days of rainfall during the month of October. Average temperature can also spike to 29 degrees Celsius and drop to just 25 degrees Celsius.
Wind
Hulhangu winds during Hey blows from south west at 9 – 14 mph in southern atolls and 10 – 18 mph elsewhere. However, windows may gust at 40 mph during showers. Seas are expected to be slight in southern atolls and moderate becoming rough during showers elsewhere. Waves may rise to an average height of 2 – 4 feet in the open sea. Rides may be bumpy when travelling against the wind.
Fishing
Fishing is generally good during this period. Fishing peaks from 18th October till 25th October when the moon is full.
Night fishing is best during 10 pm till midnight from 18th October till 19th October and from sunset pm till 8 to 10 pm from 20th October till 25th October.
Day jigging/popping is especially good during 9:30 am till noon during 18th October till 19th October and noon to 2 pm during 21st October till 22nd October and the rest of the days till 25th October 1 pm till 4 pm.
Top Catch
Tuna is famous during this period, especially the Skipjack Tuna (kalhubilamas) and Yellow Fin Tuna (kanneli), while wahoo (kurumas) is an upcoming runner up during morning trolling.
