Furabadhuruva is the 7th nakaiy of the Iruvai monsoon. Mainly fine weather with few isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Fishing is generally very good during this period.
WEATHER
Mainly fine weather with few showers and thunderstorms in central and southern atolls. Northern atolls experience fine weather. 7 days of showers are expected during the month of March, with average temperature being at 29 degrees Celsius. Expect to get around 9 hours of sunshine on average every day. Not bad for a full day fishing trip. For this month fishing arsenal, be sure to pack lots of sun screen and a good hat – just for good measure.
WIND
Wind blows from the east at 6 to 15 mph in central atolls and 4 to 10 mph elsewhere. Seas are expected to be slight in southern atolls and moderate elsewhere. Waves height are expected to be 2 feet when slight rising to 4 feet when rough. Boat rides are generally expected to be smooth with few becoming bumpy.
FISHING
Fishing is generally believed to be very good during this period. Fishing peaks from 3rd, 4th & 11th February. 5 days in this nakaiy are major days for fishing.
Early morning trolling for Wahoo is excellent with frequent bites from Sail Fish.
It’s a full moon on 1st to 3rd March, excellent for night fishing. Weekend anglers better use these days to fish for Red Snapper.

Wahoo (kurumas) and Sail Fish (Fangandu Hibaru) becoming frequent catches in morning trolling.
